Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore raised over $47,000 at the 36th Annual Golf Tournament held April 28, 2022 at the Glen Riddle Golf Course in Berlin, MD.

Berlin, MD-- Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore raised over $47,000 at the 36^th Annual Golf Tournament held April 28, 2022 at the Glen Riddle Golf Course in Berlin, MD. The tournament was presented by BBSI and sponsored by R&R Coatings, Gillis Gilkerson and Mountaire Farms.

The event is the longest-running golf tournament on the Shore, dating back to 1986, attracting hundreds of top-tier business owners and corporations from leading companies up and down the Eastern Shore.

“Every year, the commitment to our youth grows stronger,” said Jayme Hayes, President of Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore. “It’s amazing when we can take a fun activity like golf and turn it into an opportunity to raise thousands of dollars for our local students.”

The tournament featured over 130 golfers and 32 businesses from Wicomico, Worcester, Dorchester, Talbot and Caroline counties.

Participants enjoyed a complementary catered lunch, drinks and cocktails, cigars, a post-play reception, awards, contests and prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and much more.

Events like JA’s golf tournament are crucial to the continuation of JA programs. All proceeds go towards keeping programming free for students and program innovation.

“We could not have done this without the amazing support of our sponsors, board members, Glen Riddle staff and, of course, our golfers,” Hayes said. “We already can’t wait for next year’s tournament!”
