Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore Raises Nearly $10,000 at Wicomico Glow Bowl Event

Eastern Shore, MD – Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore raised nearly $10,000 at its Wicomico County JA Glow Bowl event held Wednesday, Feb. 8 at Southbound Alley in Fruitland.

“I am always impressed by the way Wicomico County residents and businesses support and embrace the mission of Junior Achievement,” said Hillary Evans, Chair of the Wicomico board for JA. “Thanks to our amazing sponsors, board members, and all our bowlers, our Glow Bowl event raised nearly $10,000 that will go directly to fund programs that teach Wicomico County students about financial literacy, work readiness, and business ownership.”

The Wicomico JA Glow Bowl was sponsored by SVN, Avery Hall, Chesapeake Utilities, Coastal Comfort and Eastern Shore Distributing.

Nearly 100 bowlers from 19 teams came out to participate in the event, playing multiple games on the lanes. Prizes were presented to the best team, best bowler, gutter-ball bowler and best team theme. SVN won the top prize with a 613 score.

JA Glow Bowl was the latest event put on by the organization’s county boards. Others include a Halloween-themed mini-golf tournament (Worcester) and golf tournament (Upper Shore).
